Kavya Sri Kasula is currently a graduate student working in Data Science while studying for a Master's degree in Information Systems with a focus on Business Analytics. Kavya expects to graduate in May 2023. Kavya previously worked for Data Center Operations before moving to work in Data Science.

What is your favorite thing about working in Data Science?

The Data Science department at Marist College offers a diverse environment and equal opportunities for growth, which I greatly appreciate. Through my coursework, I have gained hands-on experience working on real-world projects, with ample encouragement and support from the faculty to learn new skills. I feel enthusiastic about my studies, projects, and have received the benefit of industry experience from senior management, which has provided valuable insights into the field.

What is your favorite thing about Marist?

I enjoy the refreshing and calming nature of the Hudson River at Marist College. I appreciate the college's support for innovative student ideas and their focus on ensuring student success, which is reflected in their Joint Study Program, fellowships, and internships. I admire Marist's interactive approach toward students and its commitment to identifying and solving any problems students may face. The welcoming and supportive environment at Marist is highly attractive and an admirable feature of the college.

When you graduate, what do you hope to be able to do?

After finishing my program at Marist College, I am to put into practice the professional and personal skills that I have gained over the past two years. The coursework has strengthened me with improved leadership skills, data analytical skills, and a better understanding of human behavior, which are essential in making informed decisions. I am excited to utilize these acquired skills and knowledge to make a positive impact in the filed of Information Systems and strive toward achieving my career goals.
