Let’s Revise: An Assessment
Friday, 3/7 11:00-12:15, Goretti Benca, Vickie Ferrera, Christina Fojas In this session of our "Let's Revise" series, we'll explore the critical intersection of learning outcomes and assessment strategies. Participants will distinguish between formative and summative approaches, and understand the differences between assessment for learning and assessment of learning. Most of the session will involve a guided revision activity for your existing assessments. Participants should plan to bring one of their own or come to the session with an idea for an assessment they would like guidance in developing, and how these can be mapped back to learning outcomes.

Let’s Revise: A Course Redesign Workshop Series
Would you like to refresh your course materials in a collegial and supportive environment? Join us for Let’s Revise, a five-part workshop series offering practical guidance and collaborative peer review to help you enhance key elements of your courses.
Sessions focus on a specific course component: a writing assignment, assessment, rubric, Brightspace site, or syllabus. A brief presentation on current best practices will begin each session, followed by structured peer feedback sessions where you’ll exchange ideas with colleagues from different disciplines. Bring your course materials, and we’ll keep track of the clock to ensure each faculty member gets dedicated time to discuss their course materials with others.
Each session provides time during the workshop to improve your course materials with supportive feedback from peers. Whether you’re looking to make minor adjustments or major overhauls, you’ll leave with concrete suggestions and a clearer vision for your next steps.
