Content in a unit of Brightspace

Embedding links, text, and images directly on the unit page can create accessibility challenges, as ReadSpeaker is not available in this area. To ensure accessibility, always include content within the page, making it compatible with ReadSpeaker.

This screenshot is an example of what users must not do, as it lacks ReadSpeaker in the unit, requiring manual navigation of course tools, content, and review options.

Best Practices for Content:
  • Step 1: Click "Create New"

Digital interface with sidebar icons including "New Unit," and a central "Create Now" button highlighted in a reddish-brown border, next to an "Add Existing" button.

  • Step 2: Click on Page.

Pop-up dialog titled "Module 1" with content creation options like New Lesson, Page (highlighted), WebLink, Assignment, Discussion, Checklist, and More, plus a Cancel button.

  • Step 3: Develop content as you normally would once the page has been created within the unit.
