All videos and audios must have Closed Captioning  

All videos must be created by faculty in Brightspace and must include closed captioning (CC).  

Creating Accessible Video Content in Brightspace: 

To make any video content more accessible and to ensure there is assistance, captioning should be enabled. 

How to enable captioning for videos: 

  • Step 1: Click on Insert Stuff

  • Step 2: Go to Video Note Search

  • Step 3: Record the video content for the course

  • Step 4: Select Automatically generate captions

  • Step 5: Select Next and Save. 

The whole transcript of the video can also be viewed after the video is uploaded. Captions can be generated for pre-recorded video submission and video recording using Brightspace recorder.

Creating Accessible Audio Content in Brightspace: 
  • Step 1: Click on Insert Stuff.

  • Step 3: Click on Audio Only.

  • Step 4: Record the Audio content for the course. 

  • Step 5: Select Automatically generate captions.

  • Step 6: Select Next and Save.
