Stephanie Laurent

Senior Instructional Designer

Bio: 

Stephanie Laurent, an experienced and accomplished instructional designer, brings her expertise and passion for transformative learning experiences to Marist University as a Senior Instructional Designer. She is equipped with a robust foundation to create impactful educational environments. Stephanie is deeply committed to fostering empathic and inclusive pedagogical spaces that cultivate a sense of belonging for all learners. Her work centers on designing courses and learning experiences that are not only informative but also engaging and accessible to diverse audiences. As a curator of visually appealing and thoughtfully crafted designs, Stephanie ensures that her creations provide learners with a holistic and sensory-rich experience. Her approach combines functionality with creativity, transforming learning materials into immersive journeys that resonate with both the mind and the senses. With a career rooted in innovation, Stephanie remains driven by her belief in the power of education to inspire, connect, and empower learners to thrive in an ever-evolving world.

Dede Hourican

Assistant Director of Information Technology

 

Bio: 
Dede Hourican is the Assistant Director of Instructional Technology at Marist. She has over 15 years’ experience in building improvements and technical solutions to teaching and learning within Marist's instance of Sakai and now, Brightspace.  Dede works with international graduate students through website creation and the QA process. She teaches them about open-source software and global communities while gaining technical skills. She is on the Sakai Project Management Committee (PMC), and an Apereo Mentor.   
 

Education:  
Dede holds an MA in Integrated Marketing and Communication from Marist.
