Copyleaks Instructor Guides

Copyleaks is a plagiarism detection platform that uses artificial intelligence to identify similar and identical content across various formats. It supports multiple file types and integrates with popular learning management systems, making it suitable for academic, business, and publishing environments. Copyleaks also offers detailed reports with side-by-side comparisons, helping users understand and address potential content duplication effectively.
Copyleaks and Brightspace
Accessing Copyleaks through Brightspace Course Offering Site:

From your course site, click on "Assignments".

Create a new Assignment by clicking "New Assignment", or edited a previously created Assignment by clicking on the dropdown next to it and selecting "Edit Assignment".

Expand the "Evaluation & Feedback" section on the right side.

Under "External Learning Tools", select "Add External Tool".

Select the options you would like to use, and then click on "Register Tool".
You will now see the CopyLeaks tool attached to the assignment. Click on "Save and Close" when finished and save the assignment.

Please note that students must agree to the CopyLeaks EULA (End User License Agreement) in order for their submissions to be reviewed by CopyLeaks. Students will only need to agree to the EULA once.

Students who submit without accepting the EULA will have their work marked as not accepted. They must accept the EULA and resubmit the assignment for review.
How to Review a CopyLeaks Report as an instructor:
After students have agreed to the CopyLeaks EULA for Students and submitted to an assignment, their document will be scanned by CopyLeaks.
- To view the CopyLeaks report, go to "Assignments" in the Navbar.
- Click the dropdown next to the "Assignment", and click on "View Submissions".
- Under the "External Tool Results" column, you can view the report.
- For lengthy submissions, it may take a few minutes for the copyleaks to process and it will say “In progress” until it is processed.
- You can click on the "Details" option to be brought to CopyLeaks to review the full report.
- The report will also be available on the Grading page within "Assignments".
CopyLeaks EULA for Students:

When CopyLeaks is added to an assignment, students will need to accept the "EULA (End User License Agreement)" in order for their submission to be submitted to CopyLeaks for review.

Students must agree to the EULA once in order for their work to be submitted. All future submissions will not require acceptance of the EULA (unless there is an update to the EULA from CopyLeaks).

Students can accept it by navigating to the assignment with CopyLeaks attached, and click on the “ CopyLeaks Tools Deployment” link that appears.

Upon clicking the link, students can check the box and click "Finish" to accept the EULA.
Students can then submit their work to the assignment, and it will be reviewed by CopyLeaks.
