Accessibility  in Excel : Hyperlinks

To make hyperlinks in Microsoft Excel accessible, follow these best practices to ensure they are easily understood and navigable by all users, including those using screen readers.

Best Practices for the Links:

Inserting a Hyperlink

  • Select the Cell where you want to insert the hyperlink.

  • Right-click and choose "Link" or go to the Insert tab → Click Link.

  • In the "Insert Hyperlink" dialog box:

  • Enter the web address (or file path).

  • In the "Text to display" field, enter a descriptive name for the link.

  •  Example: Instead of "Click Here," use "Download the 2025 Sales Report."

  • Click OK.
