What is YuJa Verity Test Proctoring? YuJa Verity is a secure online test-proctoring platform designed to maintain academic integrity during assessments within Brightspace. Instructors can proctor their quizzes by locking down students' browsers, requiring sign-in verifications, or customizing their exams with other options.  YuJa Verity is quick and easy to configure in D2L Brightspace. Simply launch a browser, install the plugin, and get started creating a quiz.

Key Features:

YuJa Verity has two modalities from which instructors can choose:

  1. A browser extension version (requiring that test-takers use Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, or Opera) 
  2. A downloadable, browser-independent Lockdown Module version 

Faculty Can Create Quizzes Without Leaving D2L Brightspace

Once the YuJa Verity Plugin is installed, instructors can create a quiz and define the proctoring experience with ease. Instructors select which settings they’d like enabled, and can save the settings for future quizzes. YuJa Verity offers a Lock Down feature for additional security.

Proctor Third-Party Tests from the D2L Brightspace

Instructors can create, deliver and secure academic or professional tests across a variety of third-party platforms, such as Pearson, Pearson-Vue, McGraw Hill, MyMathLab, ALEKS, and others, in addition to providing a direct D2L Brightspace LMS integration.

Getting Started with YuJa Verity Test Proctoring

Key Setup Steps for Instructors:

  • Add YuJa Verity to the Brightspace course site. (This will only need to be done once).
  • Install the Extension: Download and enable the YuJa Verity Browser Extension (supported on Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Opera; remember to enable incognito mode).
  • Create a Quiz: In D2L Brightspace, go to Quizzes, click New Quiz, and check the option for the YuJa Test Proctoring Platform.
  • Configure Proctoring Mode: Select your preferred method—such as Automated Proctoring, Live Assessment, or Live Check-In—and choose a standard or custom restriction profile.
  • Add Features & Accommodations: Enable camera, audio, and screen recording, room scans, or ID verification, and set up individual student accommodations as needed.
