Most of these tools are integrated into iLearn for easy access.  Check out our resources for links to helpful tutorials and easy-to-use documentation. iLearn Quick Start Guides

Import Materials
How to reuse content materials from past semesters by importing them from old sites to new sites
Tools and Tool Order
Editing Site Tools allows the instructor to add general and plugin tools to the list of tools that already exist in the current site
Gradebook
Calculate, store and distribute grade information to students. Uses a spreadsheet-style interface, and designed to provide faster, easier grade-entry capabilities

My Profile
Create a personal profile and connect with other users in the system. Users can even record their name pronunciation as part of their profiles
Attendance
Take attendance online, print sign-in sheets, and assign attendance grades

Groups are useful for setting exam exceptions group submissions for assignments, eliminating forum posts, and more
Statistics
Use summary and custom reports to display site statistics regarding user visits, tool use, and course activity

In most areas of the system where text can be entered, you can control the appearance of your text using the Rich Text Editor
Rich Text Editor-Image
Uploading and embedding images from the Rich Text Editor allows you and your students to view an image of your choice

Announcements
Post current, time-critical information for your site, and schedule notices to display at specific times throughout the term
Messages
Send, receive and reply to messages among site participants using Sakai’s internal email messaging.
Discussions
Create, moderate and manage discussion topics and groups within a course and send private messages to participants; options to grade discussions, set word count, permissions, etc
Sign Up
Create and manage electronic sign-up sheets for events or activities such as office hours, presentation slots, research topics, review sessions, etc
Zoom
Zoom is a video-conferencing platform which allows you to engage in live Web conversations with your students using audio, video, and text-based chat features
Panopto
Panopto is an external tool that allows educators to record classes from multiple cameras, presentations, and screens
Conversations
Ask, answer, and respond to questions. Instructors can group Conversation topics by creating and applying tags.

Turnitin is an internet-based plagiarism detection service

Peer assessment is a new function that allows students to review and critique each other's assignments
Tests and Quizzes
Create and manage online assessments using a robust testing engine which includes a variety of question types, question pools, statistics, security options for high stakes testing, delivery time and date exceptions, and more
Exam Exceptions
The Exceptions to Time Limit and Delivery Date settings allow instructors to create exceptions for specific students, without having to create separate copies of the assessment
Peer Evaluation
Peer evaluations is completed via the lessons tool and student pages allow for student generated content
Rubric
Create, manage, and share grading rubrics that work within Sakai’s Assignments, Forums, Gradebook, and Tests & Quizzes tools to provide rich feedback and automatically tabulated scoring
